ABOUT US

We Stand with the Needy

Abamagud Relief & Development Organization (ARDO) is a community-based, non-political, and non-profit organization based in Doro Refugee Camp, Maban County, Upper Nile State, South Sudan.

Founded in 2022 to respond to the urgent needs of refugees and host communities, ARDO works to empower youth and women, promote peacebuilding, and restore dignity and hope among those affected by conflict and displacement.

Our Mission

To empower youth and women with livelihood skills and peacebuilding knowledge, reduce early marriage and school dropout rates, and promote peaceful coexistence among refugees and host communities.

Our Vision

To see a strong and self-reliant community; educationally, socially, culturally, economically, and politically within the next 50 years.

Core Objectives

  • To minimize the high rate of early marriage and school dropout through training, awareness raising among the refugee communities.
  • Advocate for scholarship opportunity for secondary school students.
  • To promote peaceful, religious co-existence and harmony among the refugee women, youth and the host community.
  • To carry out capacity building program/initiatives among refugees on peace building and early marriage.

Meet the ARDO Management Team

Ayisam Abdalbagi Gari

Program Director

Ayisam holds a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from YOM Institute of Economic Development, Addis Ababa, and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations and Media Management from Cavendish University Uganda. With over five years of humanitarian experience, he has led projects in mental health, peace education, and community protection. A skilled communicator and natural leader, Ayisam is dedicated to promoting peace, empowerment, and resilience among South Sudanese communities.

Hosaya Philip Khamis

Program Manager

Hosaya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Jijiga University, Ethiopia. He has extensive experience in humanitarian protection and coordination, having worked with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Samaritan’s Purse. Skilled in conflict management, counseling, and protection monitoring, Hosaya ensures that ARDO’s programs meet community needs effectively. His leadership promotes collaboration, accountability, and inclusion across all project activities.

Elasha Madut Sillah

Program Officer

Elasha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Media Management from Cavendish University Uganda and a Diploma in Public and Local Government Administration from Nile Institute of Management Studies, Arua. With five years of experience as a community protection worker with HDC in Juba, he brings strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills. Elasha is passionate about empowering youth and promoting peace through awareness and community engagement initiatives across ARDO’s programs.

Moses Madut Sila

Operations Manager

Moses holds a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from Cavendish University Uganda and is pursuing a Master’s in the same field at Nkumba University. He also holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management. With extensive NGO experience, he brings strong skills in logistics, transparency, and operational management. Moses is committed to fostering efficiency, accountability, and community trust in all of ARDO’s operations.

Stephen Solomon Marsuk

Finance & Admin Officer

Stephen holds a Diploma in Accounting from Royal College, Addis Ababa. He has served as Finance and Administration Officer with the Danish Refugee Council and the Coordination Unit in Yabus, Sudan, bringing over a decade of experience in financial management. Stephen upholds high standards of transparency and accountability, ensuring ARDO’s resources are managed responsibly to support lasting community impact.
